Utopia Park

Utopia Park is a cute gathering place for many people in Utopia, but it also makes for a perfect tourist destination as well! People enjoy picnicking, playing sports, and hopping in the water of the Sabinal River. However, these are only a few of the things you can do here.

Park Rentals

There are a few sections of Utopia Park that you can rent out for your friends and family. Perfect for family gatherings and reunions.

Day Use: $10 per day/person
Park Tables: $25 per day
Dance Floor - $50 per day
Arena - $100 per day

Utopia Texas River

The park has its own mini-lake if you look at a map, but this lake flows from the Sabinal River. The light flow of the water makes this an excellent place to go kayaking and fishing, but it can also be a pretty fun swimming spot. Some of our guests have loved jumping in the water from the top of the dam.

Sabinal River Fishing

Sabinal River is a prime fishing spot in rural Texas. There aren't that many bodies of water in the desert, so having one so close to town is a dream. You'll have a chance to fish for a variety of bass, trout, and other types of fish in this river.

There are some things you should be aware of with this. For one, there are a lot of swimmers in the lake and river, so make sure you don't cast your line near an innocent bystander.

Water Sports

Another popular thing to do is kayaking, paddleboarding, and tubing around the lake. While these water sports are a lot of fun, it's best if you bring your own gear. If you don't, you'll need to drive to one of the few rental services in nearby towns.

Utopia Park Events

Last but not least, there are a few events that occur throughout the year at Utopia Park. Some of these happen because of a specific celebration, others are just fun.

Fireworks
On a few different patriotic days, you'll find fireworks soaring from Utopia Park, lighting the desert skies up with color. Take a look at the calendar on the park's website to learn when they launch.

Ranch and Rodeo
Nothing is more Texas than sitting on a bench watching grown men try to stay on a bull. The rodeo occurs every year in the summertime, and is a blast! After the bulls are put back in their pens, you'll have the chance to dance to classic country music. Look at the calendar on the town website for more information.

Utopia Park is an excellent place to spend your vacation. If you are visiting with kids or family, it will allow you all to relax and have fun in a quiet, safe environment. And while it isn't the most explorative activity, it can diversify your vacation and make it one-of-a-kind.
